TESTING

Your first week on the programme is Test Week – a focused block of fitness testing to establish exactly where you are now. Through movement screening and strength and conditioning tests, we assess your current capacity and set clear, individual objectives. Test Week is then repeated at planned points in the programme to track your progress and refine your training to match your new level.

We only build your programme once we know your current ability. You’ll be prescribed weekly training schedules designed around your equipment, goals, progress, availability, and role. This ensures accurate prescription, volume, and stimulus needed for growth.

Firefighter Casualty Drag

Firefighter fitness is a science – and we understand it. Your programme is designed to improve your lactate threshold (so you can sustain higher intensities for longer), increase VO₂ max, enhance your ability to perform under load and think clearly under fatigue, and build an engine that keeps you ready for whatever the job throws at you. You won’t just be fitter – you’ll be able to perform.

ACCESSIBILITY

You'll have access to your programme via the Fitr App. This will include your full schedule, form and technique videos, weekly briefs, macros tracking and support. You'll be able to message, send photos/videos, leave session feedback and track progress.

You’ll have direct messaging access to your coach, who will monitor your session completion, support your training virtually, and guide you through each phase. Everything you share with your coach stays strictly confidential.

During Test Week, we’ll also track your macros for a full week. Using this data, you’ll receive tailored support and a detailed, personalised nutrition guide – including how and when to fuel for both training and shifts.

ROADMAP

FOUNDATION PHASE: STRENGTH FOUNDATION & AEROBIC BASE
  • Movement competency and mobility: clean, efficient movement patterns in all key planes.

  • Strength foundation: build joint robustness and efficient push, pull, hinge, squat, and carry patterns.

  • Aerobic base: develop steady-state conditioning that supports long-duration calls and recovery.

  • Core and load carriage: improve trunk stability and the ability to carry, hold, and move under load.

The FireFit Roadmap isn’t linear. However it outlines clear objectives for each phase of your programme. But where you start and how quickly you move through the phases, depends on your Test Week results, training age, and movement competency. The initial phase is critical: we build a solid, efficient strength foundation and a robust aerobic base before you progress. Skip this, and your risk of injury climbs. Get it right, and you build a bigger “engine” – and a bigger engine always has more power potential which runs more efficiently. We haven't even mentioned the health benefits...
